- Students will investigate the world using the CIA World Fact Book to learn about information on the history, people, government, economy, military and other issues for various countries.
- Students will utilize information gathered to explain current educational system
- Students will determine how students, community and government can take action to improve the lives of those impacted historical political policies and governmental economic decisions.
- In teams, students will use previous knowledge and discussion to gather United States country information. Using the United States as an example, students will then individually research other countries, gathering similar information
- Students will analyze research and explain how various countries make economic decisions around education.
- Students will create a one-page fact sheet about their country to be used in a class discussion around the future of today's youth.
- In teams, students will create an action plan for youth in their researched country to improve educational and employment opportunities to be shared through digital media with students in said country.

Students will understand that: Entrepreneurs take on the calculated risk of starting new businesses, either by embarking on new ventures similar to existing ones or by introducing new innovations. Entrepreneurial innovation is an important source of economic growth. Students will be able to use this knowledge to: Identify the risks and potential returns to entrepreneurship, as well as the skills necessary to engage in it. Understand the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation to economic growth, and how public policies affect incentives for and, consequently, the success of entrepreneurship in the United States. - After learning about various countries, students will conduct a demographic specific needs assessment for their country.
- Students will identify innovations and business risk involved in the creation of a good or service that meets said need.
- Students will need to synthesize information from various media (articles, videos, blogs and vlogs) to gain an more complete understanding of their country
- Students will look to identify goods and services that are based on NEED and not DESIRE due to differences in available resources (human, capital or natural) and government/political policies.
- Students will create a business pitch for a good or service to meet the needs of their targeted demographic.
- Students will write and essay that explains WHY the demographic needs said good or service and HOW their suggested product will improve quality of life.
You are a travel agent and you have a client who wants to go on the vacation of a LIFETIME! Your client wants to travel a unique destination on their 21 day vacation. They have saved air miles from traveling for work. You only need to plan for the destination. You being the awesome travel agent you are, have one week to build an itinerary for the vacation of a lifetime.
After viewing an episode of the Amazing Race, challenge students to create a race all of their own for their classmates to play. In groups of 3-5, students will use an international city map to locate and identify points of interest. Once identified students will circle places on the map and assign each place a letter or special symbol to each place. The names of the buildings and locations should be clearly identified if you must photo copy. Students will then write 10 different clues to any 10 different locations that are circled on the map and cut them into strips. Encourage to be creative by building in Fast Forward and Road Block challenges. When all groups have completed the necessary steps, groups may trade and race begins!
In this lesson, students will research a travel destination, set up a four-day itinerary, and then use the photos to create an illustrated travel journal detailing sights, sounds and smell their experiences. Journals can be printed an sold as a fundraiser for travel.
