Teaching for the 21st Century
As an educator preparing students for the workplace in the 21st century we must find ways to SMARTLY integrate technology into daily instructional practices. According to an Edutopia article, "... technological advances have affected many areas of our lives: the way we communicate, collaborate, learn, and, of course, teach". Teachers in this new robust and ever-changing environment must have an attitude of openness to:
1. Creating Learner-Centered Classroom and Personalized Instructions
2. Viewing Students as Producers
3. Learning New Technologies
4. Connecting personally and professionally to toGlobal
5. Using Smart phones as a part of the education environment and instruction
6. Using BLOGGING as an instructional and reflective practice
7. Willingness to connect and collaborate with peers, student AND community (locally, nationally and globally)
8. Measuring instructional outcomes through Project Based Lessons outcome
9. Continuing to innovate the classroom (physical space) and instruction
